BARCELONA HAS SOME REAL PRESSURE; BRACE FOR NEKOUNAM; LA LIGA RESULTS

Barcelona managed to come away with all 3 points in their league game against Athletic Bilbao despite some uncharacteristic results the past week. Barcelona had not won either of their past two games coming into the game against Bilbao, but vowed to give the fans a win. The game was not as easy as expected, however, as the winner came in the 78th minute as Lionel Messi put the Catalans ahead. Goalkeeper Victor Valdes is to miss action for 3 weeks with a knee injury, missing key games such as the 2nd leg of the Champions League against Arsenal.
Other games in La Liga this weekend included Real Madrid's 2-0 win over Levante, and Osasuna's thrashing over Espanyol. Karim Benzema scored only his 3rd league goal this season for Real Madrid, and Carvalho added a second by scoring his 3rd league goal this season as well.
New Osasuna manager Mendilibar made headlines as Osasuna crushed 6th place Espanyol 4-0. Iranian midfielder Javad Nekounam scored two goals as his compatriot Masoud Shojaei assisted one. Osasuna are clear of the drop zone, and are now in 14th place.
