ARSENAL STUNS BARCELONA- Champions League Results

In the 2009-2010 Champions League round of 16, Barcelona managed to crush Arsenal 4-1 with Lionel Messi scoring all four goals. This year, however, Arsenal fought back to secure a 2-1 victory over the Spanish giants. The scoring opened in the 26th minute when Lionel Messi provided a through ball for David Villa, who finished into the lower corner of the net. Barcelona would rue missed chances as Robin Van Persie scored for Arsenal in the 78th minute, and Arshavin, a substitute for Arsenal, scored in the 83rd minute. Arsenal's victory only marked Barcelona's 3rd loss in all competitions this season, but L'equip blaugrana have been unable to win for the second consecutive game. The second leg is on March 8th in the Camp Nou.

Other results from this weeks Champions League include A.C. Milan's 1-0 loss to Tottenham, Roma's 3-2 loss to Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk, and Valencia's 1-1 draw with Schalke. Raul provided the equalizer for Schalke, marking his first goal in Spain since leaving Real Madrid in the summer of 2010.
