MANCHESTER UNITED CRUSHES ARSENAL 8-2! MANCHESTER CITY DESTROYS TOTTENHAM! REAL MADRID BEGINS SEASON EMPHATICALLY!

Barclay's Premier League

Arsenal experienced their worst defeat since 1896 this past weekend when Manchester United demolished them 8-2. Wayne Rooney, who has had an excellent start to the season, scored from three dead ball situations with two free kicks and one penalty kick. New signing Ashley Young showed his worth as he scored two goals, while Park Ji Sung, Nani, and Danny Welbeck each supplied one. Arsenal's two goals came from Theo Walcott and captain Robin Van Persie.

Arsene Wenger apologized for the "humiliation" and worst loss in 106 years, but has insisted that he will not give up despite heavy criticism from fans and pundits. Arsenal football club has offered a free ticket to every fan who attended the game, and will desperately look for a solution to their very visible problems on the pitch.

Manchester City demolished another London based club on Sunday when they visited Tottenham at White Heart Lane. Sergio Aguero scored his third goal in three games for City, but would not be the subject of the headlines. Bosnian star Edin Dzeko scored four goals to give Manchester City the 5-1 victory over their opponents. Tottenham's only goal came from Younes Kaboul in the 68th minute.

La Liga

Real Madrid got off to a wondrous start in the Spanish primera as they beat Real Zaragoza 6-0 at Zaragoza's home stadium. Cristiano Ronaldo, the top single season goalscorer in La Liga history, scored a hat trick taking his total league tally to 70 goals in 64 games since arriving in Madrid. Marcelo, Xabi Alonso, and Kaka each found the back of the net once as well. Despite their loss in the Spanish Supercopa, many critics and football analysts have expressed their belief that this Real Madrid side can take the crown from F.C. Barcelona as the best team in the world. Manager Jose Mourinho applauded his team for their performance, and seemed quite happy with the result.
