REAL CRUSH TOTTENHAM; BARCELONA CRUSH SHAKHTAR; LA LIGA RESULTS; FOUR EL CLASICOS IN THREE WEEKS!

REAL MADRID AND F.C. BARCELONA

Spanish Rivals Real Madrid and F.C. Barcelona essentially ended the champions league dreams of Tottenham and Shakhtar on Tuesday and Wednesday. Madrid downed Tottenham 4-0 thanks to a double by Adebayor, a wonder goal from Angel Di Maria, and a late volley from returning star Cristiano Ronaldo. Barcelona, despite great efforts from the other side, cruised through their game winning 5-1 at Shakhtar's stadium.

The two Spanish powerhouses are set to play in the Semi Finals of the Champions League, which means two games in addition to the games they are playing in La Liga and Copa Del Rey. This schedule creates an unprecedented four matches between the two sides, all of which can decide the outcome of their respective competitions. Madrid has not won a match between the giants since May 7th 2008 when they won 4-1 through goals by Raul, Higuain, Robben, and Van Nistelrooy. Since then, Barcelona has dominated El Clasico, going as far as winning 6-2 in Madrid in 2009, as well as winning 5-0 at home at the beginning of the current season.

Currently in La Liga, Barcelona tops the table and is 8 points over competitor Real Madrid. This week, both Madrid and Barcelona won their games, Madrid winning 3-0 at Athletic Bilbao, and Barcelona winning 3-1 against Almeria. The two sides will play each other in La Liga on April 16th.
