CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTER FINALS- FOUR EL CLASICOS FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SEASON!?

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Champions League quarter final pairings have been released, with the following teams squaring off-
Real Madrid- Tottenham Hotspur
Barcelona- Shakhtar Donetsk
Internazionale Milan- Schalke 04
Manchester United- Chelsea

Should Real Madrid and Barcelona defeat Tottenham and Shakhtar, respectively, they would meet in the semi-finals, playing two more games this season. In addition to these possible games, the rivals are set to play once more in La Liga, a match which could decide the title, and in the Copa Del Rey final. This would make four more El Clasicos this season, and the world's biggest football rivalry would reach a new high.

Manchester United are set to play Chelsea in a rematch of the 2007-2008 champions league final. This draw has been slightly controversial as many regard the match to be worthy of at least a Semi Final rather than a Quarter Final. Chelsea's performance in the Premier League has not been as successful as previous seasons, but coach Carlo Ancelotti has been stressing the importance of the Champions League for his club. The winner of this match will take on the winner of the Inter Schalke match-up.
LA LIGA

FC Barcelona defeated Getafe 2-1 thanks to goals by Dani Alvez and Bojan Krkic. Getafe managed to pull one back late in the game through Manu Del Moral's goal. Barcelona has managed 78 points in 29 games, a record breaking statistic, and is 5 points ahead of Real Madrid, who won the Madrid derby against Athletico.

Real Madrid managed to beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 with Benzema and Ozil providing the goals for Real, and Sergio Aguero scoring for Atletico. Benzema scored in the 11th minute, Ozil in the 32nd, and Aguero in the 86th. Cristiano Ronaldo, who had returned from injury against Lyon on Wednesday, has still not reached 100% fitness, and was taken off to make way for Angel Di Maria in the 72nd minute.

Osasuna is to play Hercules on Sunday March 20th at 12:00pm eastern time

PREMIER LEAGUE

Manchester United defeated Bolton with 10 men thanks to a late Berbatov strike. United remains on top of the table 5 points ahead of 2nd place Arsenal, although Arsenal have a game in hand. United, the most successful English team in history, are attempting to get their 19th league trophy, and 11th Premier League title.
