CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL SUMMARY AND RESULTS!

Champions League Final

In a highly anticipated Champions League Final between the English Premier League champions and Spanish La Liga champions, the Spanish dominated for much of the game, justifying their 3-1 victory. As the game started, Manchester United put the pressure on Barca, having most of the possession and chances. After about 10 minutes, however, the flow of play changed, and Barcelona were tormenting Manchester United as they do to most teams. In the 27th minute, Barcelona's dominance paid off as Pedro struck the first goal to put his side ahead. Seven minutes later, Manchester United star Wayne Rooney scored after a fine run to level the score back at 1-1. As the second half began, Barcelona continued to dominate Manchester United, and found the back of the net through Lionel Messi and David Villa in the 54th and 69th minutes, respectively. Manchester United could not find another goal, losing to Barcelona by two goals for the second time in 3 years.

After a controversial and shameful, as it is commonly accepted, semi final matchup against rivals Real Madrid, Barcelona managed to play a legitimate and more sportsmanlike game against Manchester United. Barcelona had been ridiculed and castigated by many for their very blatant dives in the semi final, many of which resulting in bookings for their opposition, and some resulting in red cards. Barcelona player Sergio Busquets was also tried by UEFA for racism against Madrid's left back Marcelo. Due to inefficient evidence, however, Busquets could not be convicted of this charge. Today, Barcelona managed to play a clean and fair game against Manchester United, and won the UEFA Champions League for the 2nd time in 3 years.
